Public K-12 Education Funding
Public K-12 Education Funding
The future of Arizona’s economy is grounded in providing a well-resourced, public school system that maximizes educational opportunities for every Arizona child.
Additionally, every Arizona K-12 student deserves the opportunity to learn in an environment that provides the support for them to learn and grow, whether that be well-stocked school libraries or free, nutritious school meals.
AZCenter will work toward the following public K-12 education funding goals:
- Support referring to the voters a ballot measure to permanently eliminate the public-school Aggregate Expenditure Limit.
- Support addressing issues with the Empowerment Scholarship Account program, including measures that increase accountability of fund expenditures, reduce the program’s cost to the state, and prevent public tax dollars from being diverted from public schools to private schools.
- Support equitably addressing the extension of Proposition 123 and removing harmful triggers in the Arizona Constitution that jeopardize future K-12 funding levels.
